Iowa-Nigeria Partnership: For twenty-five years the Iowa Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church in Nigeria shared resources and people to further the cause of Christ in both countries.  Typical projects in Nigeria have included education, health and agricultural projects, Village Well Projects, EmpowHer (microfinance), village partnerships and support of Banyam Theological Seminary.  The official partnership agreement between the conferences has expired and is under review, yet the relationships formed over the past 25 years have encouraged the continuation of partnership activities.  Iowa partnerships completed a medical clinic in 2015, and BTS Provost visited Iowa churches in 2016.  Our relationships and our efforts at combined ministry are alive and well.

The BTS Advisory Committee (BTSAC) owns and maintains this website.  BTSAC was formed as a sub-committee of the Iowa - Nigeria Partnership, focusing on assisting Banyam Seminary with its immediate goals and visions for the future of the institution.  In the church, as in the secular world, education is a key component of progress, and the BTS Advisory Committee believes that investment in Banyam Theological Seminary is as important to development as any other infrastructure project.   The BTS advisory committee remains an active body of Iowans outside of the INP.

Action Form:  A convenient synopsis of our current funding initiatives is available on our BTS Action Card. You're welcome to download and print it and use it as a guide for your personal contributions or those of your church's mission-giving team. <get Action Card>
